You transformed emotional energy and distress into something constructive. This is a real achievement and not to be taken lightly.

So many of us have those old tapes that sabotage our best and contribute to those blind spots. Thank you for sharing how you were able to move past those tapes that created blind spots in your life.

Ana:
Nice going. I clicked on the facebook recommend this, then I clicked on the thumbs up button. I got a red "Error" sign out beside the "You recommend this" radio button.
Great article on Mom, however.
Love,
Bob

Both habits (which make or break us) as well as routines are important. Years ago, when I first committed to an exercise program, I found I had to do a few things. First, make the commitment to a clear and measurable goal. (For me at that time was to walk for 30 minutes 3 times a week.) I was teaching my leadership classes at 7:30 am in my office, or had meetings most mornings, so, second, I came to the conclusion I had to work out/walk the track BEFORE I went home, or I never got my exercise in. Third, I planned ahead: I carried shoes and gym clothes and audios and player with me in car when I left home in AM. The exercise relieved the stress of day.

When I had friends and family members who became ill and I switched to a home business to care for them, I found walking and reading and praying/meditating in Reynolda each morning was essential for my well being. At one time, a dear friend walked with me for 30 minutes, until her husband's schedule changed.
Another "rule" I found that helped me keep my commitment to myself was, if a client asked for assistance or time, (unless it was an emergency), I never gave up my exercise time UNLESS I found an alternate time to schedule my walk. (My beloved husband helped me realize my habit of saying yes to others before I said yes to my self. I had to change that habit with my rule, and say "I have a commitment". Even if the commitment was to myself.
I have always read a lot, and sometimes keep a journal. My preference is to block out a time for that, too. In chunks in nature or with music.
