Acceptance Training:Creating a Safe Work Place
You think that you "don't have a problem" with gay employees. Yet, this is an invisible
diversity. You have no idea who might be expending a lot of energy just staying in the closet. Guarding a secret can be draining
and exhaustive.
Homophobia is prevalent in the workplace through blatent means, such as jokes or threats, to micro-messenging,
such as body language or vocal inflections that suggest inferiority. Even seemingly harmless activities such as discussing
weekend plans can be intimidating to a gay employee.
This training explores the myths around LGBT people,
and examines the facts in an open environment where one learns the answers to questions that are never acceptable to ask.
The goal is to create a work environment where people feel safe, respected, and amongst friends.
Ana brings
a co-presenter from the gay, lebian, bisexual, transgendered community that participants might hear personal stories and insight.

Serving the LGBT Market...Are you Sensitive to your Customers?
Homophobia is bad for business. Researchers estimate that 1 - 10% of the workforce in the US is gay and that there are between
13 million and 17 million gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people in the United States. That translates to a projected
$608 billion in buying power for the year of 2007.
Isn't success the ability to connect to all market segments?
